Outstanding customer experience is usually backed by robust data analytics. Same applies to Mamava, a business that celebrates and supports breastfeeding in a way fit for the 21st century.
The challenge
Mamava founders designed lactation pods, which are private spaces to breastfeed or pump at work or on-the-go, to transform the culture of breastfeeding. Over 1000 pods are in work environments and public places across the US and Canada. The Mamava mobile app helps Moms find, unlock and control the interior lights and fans of the pods.
Motivated to provide robust usage insights and pod health to enhance the customer experience, offer new services and create ROI, Mamava quickly felt the need to create an analytical environment that would simplify everyday pods monitoring as well as facilitate drawing insights from pods and app data. Mamava turned to GetInData for assistance in their business intelligence and data science needs.
The solution
At Mamava both IoT data from dispersed pods and mobile app data reside conveniently in a single location i.e. BigQuery database. BigQuery, as part of the Google Cloud offering, lets you manage access to the resources easily, using email accounts. GetInData analysts were therefore instantly able to start their job. The open architecture of BigQuery allowed for seamless integration with Tableau which Mamava chose for data visualization.
Dashboards created as a result of Mamava and GetInData cooperation allow for tracking lactation pods state and detecting anomalies that may indicate failure or defect. Events requiring immediate attention now trigger alerts.
GetInData has also supported Mamava in approaching pods location analysis. Thanks to geospatial data it was possible to visualize pods location on the map and create alerts on changes in pods position including maps and timing details.
The results
Enhanced Mamava customer experience as a result of:
- business decisions based on the dashboards fed with IoT data
- pod usage patterns for current customers to know if they were at capacity
- quicker reactions to defects thanks to alerts.
